Cosplay: Iori Minase - My Dear Vampire ver. - The iDOLM@STER

Hace mucho que no hago una entrada de blog, así que antes de entrar en materia os contaré algunas cosas sobre este cosplay.

Hace un par de años que le tenía echado el ojo, pero no me veía con habilidad para hacerlo. En mayo del año pasado, comencé a comprar las telas, y estuve haciendo muchas pruebas para ver si el patrón que quería usar daría un efecto correcto. Además, la mayoría de cosplays hechos que vi, no me convencían por uno u otro motivo (tela, algún material, forma de la falda…), así que no tenía idea sobre si conseguiría darle la forma que en mi cabeza tenía. Tal vez podría haber salido mejor, en cierto modo, pero sin lugar a dudas estoy bastante satisfecha del resultado.

Creo que es el cosplay en el que más dinero he gastado, y en tiempo efectivo, es posible que me haya costado de hacer unos dos meses, lo cual es bastante tiempo para mi xD

Y sin más preámbulos, directo a la explicación xD

It’s been so long since my last blog post (this is starting to sound pretty familiar xDD), so before talking about the sewing issues, I’ll tell you about this cosplay.

I wanted to do it for 2 years, but I wasn’t able to sew it at that time. Last year’s May, I started buying fabric and other stuff for it, and I planned the patterns. I didn’t know how to do it so it could look exactly as I imagined it. What’s more, I didn’t like any of the cosplays I’ve found, for different reasons, so I couldn’t get ideas from already done works. But, now, it’s finished. It could be better, but, still, I’m pretty satisfied with it.

I think that this cosplay is the most expensive I’ve done, by the moment, and I think I did it in about 2 months (only working time, with relax or studying pauses it’s been a whole year xD)

So, now the cosplay explanation xD

Este cosplay tiene muchas piezas, así que espero no olvidar ninguna xD

Este vestido es igual para todas las chicas, o sea, que no hace falta decir el tipo de cabello o peluca a usar, ya que es indiferente; pero dado que mi cosplay es de Iori (cómo no), uso mi pelo.

Aquí detallaré por encima la lista de materiales (sin contar hilo y otras cosas), pero explicaré pieza por pieza, no por material.

Tela blanca, tela roja, puntilla, cinta negra y roja, botones y cremallera, pololos, liguero, medias de telaraña, guantes de telaraña, tela negra, clips o diadema (depende del personaje), zapatos de Lolita rojos.

This cosplay has many pieces, so I hope I remember them all xD

This dress is the same for all the girls, so I see no point to talk about the hair/wig, but, since I’m cosplaying Iori (of course), I’m using my own hair.

White, red and black fabric, red, black and white lace, black spider web tights and fingerless gloves, garter belt, bobby pins or diadem (it depends on the character), red Lolita shoes, zipper and buttons, bloomers.

As it is a huge list of materials, I’m going to explain the cosplay by pieces.

1- Camisa. Para ser sinceros es una de las últimas cosas que terminé (no me apetecía para nada xD). Bueno, utilicé tela blanca, botones blancos para el cierre y puntilla blanca. La cinta de las mangas es rojo carmín, porque el carmín es uno de mis colores preferidos, y creo que queda más misterioso que el rojo fuego (más estilo bomberos). Lo negro no es cinta de raso, como muchos han utilizado: es veta, aunque lo que yo pretendía utilizar es “vivo”, similar a la veta pero con un borde redondeado como un cordel. Se cose entre las costuras como esta imagen (que amablemente Google-san me brindó). La cuestión es que en el momento que compré la veta, no tenía vivo la tienda donde fui, pero la veta también me funcionó; simplemente la coloqué doblada.

El cuello es el motivo por el cual me costó tanto ponerme a hacer la camisa, ya que no sabía cómo hacer el patrón xD, pero haciendo pruebas lo saqué
Edit(2019). La camisa era incómoda para ponérsela y quitársela, y también para moverse, así que la he retocado.

 

1- T-Shirt. This is one of the things that I finished last (because of the neck, I kinda hated it xD) I used white fabric, white buttons and white lace. The lace of the sleeves is carmine red, because it’s one of my favourite colours and I think it looks more mysterious than fireman red xD. The black thing is not lace. Many cosplayers used lace for this, but… I don’t see it as lace. I don’t know the name for this material in English, but what I wanted to use was a kind of lace that has a string in one of its sides, so you sew it in between pieces and show the string. But I have to say that, when I was going to buy it, the shop hadn’t any m. of it, so I bought something similar and I also used it as bias (seam, lode?).
Edit(2019). I fixed the shirt, since it was too tight, and it was uncomfortable to move with it, and to put it on and off.

2- Pololos. Voy a usar los mismos de siempre (véase Cute&Girly Snow Strawberry, Floral Vital Sunflower). Puede que necesite un poco más de volumen para poder darle todo el vuelo a la falda, pero eso ya se verá xD

2- Bloomers. I’m wearing the same ones as always xD (Cute&Girly Snow Strawberry, Floral Vital Sunflower). Maybe, I’ll need to add some layers, so the skirt looks huge enough xD

 

3- Zapatos. Compré unos zapatos Lolita rojos con un poco de tacón. Ciertamente son cómodos para caminar y bailar, ya que el tacón no es muy alto, es ancho, y tiene un poco de plataforma. El color no coincide con el color de la tela, pero son preciosos *-* y venían en una caja muy bonita, con unos lazos de quita y pon, así que no hubo heridos a la hora de quitarle los lazos para colocar los murcielaguitos.

Para los murciélagos escogí tela de imitación de piel (polipiel para los amigos), con doble capa de fieltro negro para darle consistencia y un gancho para poderlo colocar en el zapato (y que no estropee la tela del zapato!)

Hay polipiel plana o con grietas, como la que yo utilicé. Yo utilicé la de grietas porque da más sensación de membranas, como las alas de murciélago.

 

3- Shoes. I bought red Lolita shoes with a little heels. They are easy to walk with, because the heels aren’t really high, they are thick and the shoes have a bit of platform. The colour isn’t exactly the same, but who cares, the shoes are really cute *-* and they came in a supercute box~♥ The red ribbons came with a clip, so I can put them and take them, without hurting the shoes ^^ And so, I could put the black leatherette bats without broking the shoes (the bats are also removable).

For the bats, I chose leatherette with cracks, I think that way looks more similar to bat’s wings ^^

4- Broche. Como en los murciélagos de los zapatos, usé polipiel y fieltro negros, para ponerlo en la camisa, un imperdible. La piedra del centro tiene una larga historia. Hice el broche el verano pasado, y le hice esa “piedra” de la derecha, en goma eva pintada, entre otras cosas, con pintauñas. Peeero, no sé si es cosa del pintauñas, o que no se lleva bien con la goma eva, o por qué, pero se pegaba a todas partes (papel, bolsa…) y se le despegaba la pintura, así que sufrió varias restauraciones. Y de todas formas, no me gustaba su volumen (era PLANO), ni su opacidad (debería ser transparente o translúcido ºAº)… y así fue como comenzó mi búsqueda de anillos, collares, pendientes, que tuvieran una piedra similar y del color que yo necesitaba (rosada por ser de Iori, cada personaje la usa de un color). Un día encontré una piedra que me gustó bastante, en un anillo de rebajas, a 3€ así que lo compré, le quité el envoltorio y le di mil vueltas intentando ver por dónde lo arrancaría de la montura. Llegué a la conclusión de que necesitaría herramientas, así que lo guardé en el bolsillo de la chaqueta y seguí con mi paseo. Así hasta que un momento me eché la mano al bolsillo para volver a darle vueltas al tema del anillo… y no estaba ahí ._. Así pues, alguien me lo había robado. Pero como podéis ver en la foto de más abajo, logré encontrar una piedra nueva (más barata, menos pesada y más bonita –la del anillo solo cumplía el requisito de forma y color, >< era opaca-) que proviene de unos pendientes (por lo tanto tengo recambio en caso de que se rompa esta~) y además tenía ya en el borde la parte plateada que necesitaba ♥ Así que olvidé por completo mi enfado. A veces las cosas ocurren por un buen motivo J

Y solo me queda remarcar acerca de la forma del murciélago. He visto en varios cosplays diferentes formas. A mi la que más me gusta es esta, y a mi parecer es la más similar a cómo se ve en los videos (oficiales).

4- Brooch. Like in the shoes’ bats, I used black leatherette with felt. I attached it to the shirt with a safety pin. The gemstone it’s more special xD I first did the brooch last summer, and I did that foamie “gemstone” painting it, but I didn’t really liked it, because I wanted it to be 3D (the foamie one was flat) and transparent or translucent, with a light pink… So I started to search for cheap bracelets, necklaces and earrings with a similar stone. And one day I found a oval pink/purple stone in a ring, so I bought it. Well, I put it in my pocket, and when I arrived home it wasn’t there ._. Someone stole a cheap-3-€-ring ._. how lame. I was very upset because of this, but I found some earrings that were better (earrings means I have a refill gemstone :D), because the stone was translucent, pink, oval, with a perfect size, and! It already had the silver frame :DD Sometimes things happen by a reason~

Btw, my gemstone was pink since I’m cosplaying as Iori, but each girl has its own colour there.

And I only have to talk about the bat shape. I’ve seen many different shapes in other cosplays. I prefer this shape, I see it as the most accurate to the official.

5- Diadema. La compré con el borde ya negro, para no tener que perder el tiempo en forrarla. El murciélago de la diadema es de la tela carmín del traje y polipiel negra, con base de fieltro negro. Lo cosí con el zigzag, como los ojales, para que la tela tuviera un borde limpio, sin hilos sueltos ni deshilachándose.

Para la forma del murciélago de la diadema ocurre lo mismo que con el del broche.

5- Diadem. I bought a diadem that was already black, so I didn’t waste time covering it. The bat is from red carmine fabric (the same from the dress) and black leatherette, with black felt under it, so it’s stronger.

6- Guantes. Deberían tener una rejilla de tela de araña, pero yo no encontré guantes ni tela así. Así que compré unos guantes de rejilla y los modifiqué, y le puse los murciélagos, de la tela del vestido, con el borde zigzagueado.

 

6- Gloves. They should be in a spider web pattern, but I couldn’t find any gloves like that, so I picked ones that were similar and I modified them, cutting the fingers, and I added the carmine red bats.

7- Medias y liguero. Ambos los compré. Las medias sí son de telaraña, pero en la imagen no se puede apreciar bien. Me encanta el material, no le salen carreras enseguida.

Al liguero le añadí 2 lacitos de cinta negra de raso, aunque en la foto aun no se los había añadido.

7- Tights and garter belt. I bought both (iei, it sounds similar xD). The tights have a spider web pattern, though it can’t be appreciated in the pic. I love the material, it won’t break easily~♥

I added 2 bows to the garter belt, but the pic was taken before that xD

8- Chaleco. Dejando de lado accesorios (que empecé a hacer en verano), esta es la pieza que primero hice (a finales de enero?). Usé una tela de brocado carmín. He visto este cosplay con tela rojo fuego, pero para mi gusto, no queda tan elegante, y he visto usar telas normales y de terciopelo… son opciones, pero el terciopelo es una tela demasiado blanda para poder darle a la falda la forma que debe tener, a riesgo de que quede cónica, recta (como los cosplays que vi). Por otra parte, pensé que quedaría más elegante o de época, usar un brocado ^^ (eso sí, la tela cuesta un riñón… estuve con miedo de cortar la tela por si hacía algo mal y tenía que volver a comprar… Aunque al final me sobró y todo xD).

Las líneas negras son veta, de nuevo. Y es aquí donde se volvieron más útiles que el vivo, porque me sirvieron como bies en los bordes del chaleco xD También hice con la veta los dos lacitos negros.

Para concluir con esta pieza, le añadí forro. ¿Por qué? Porque es un chaleco, y los chalecos deben quedar consistentes xD A parte, hay trozos internos de la falda que se ven, por ser escalonada, así que, ya puestos a poner forro en la falda, lo hice también en el chaleco.

* En la imagen se puede apreciar una pequeña línea blanca en medio del forro del chaleco, y esto es por algo que os voy a explicar en el siguiente punto.
Edit(2019). Lo he arreglado, porque al coser, fui comiéndome 1mm de cada costura, y eso hizo que quedara más estrecho de lo que debería, que aunque cerraba, lo hacía incómodo para bailar. Y, a parte, el botón superior ya no cerraba. Así que reemplacé la pieza de enmedio, y de paso lo hice de modo que no quede una pieza negra de unión.

8- Vest/Waistcoat. This is the first thing I did after the accessories (which I started on summer), and I did it in the end of January, I think. I used carmine brocade fabric. I’ve seen this cosplay with fire red fabric, but I prefer it in carmine red, it looks more elegant and mysterious. And I’ve also seen this cosplay made with velvet fabric and other simple fabrics… those are options, but the velvet is a light fabric, I wanted the fabric to be heavier, so the shape of the skirt could be perfect >< Besides, I wanted it to look pretty elegant, and I think brocade looks really elegant ^^ (that fabric is expensive, so I was afraid to cut it at first T_T But in the end I had leftovers xD)

The black lines are seam (lode?? D: ). And here, that material was very useful, because I could use it as bias xD I also made the 2 ribbons with it :3

To finish this piece, I added the lining (?) sorry I don’t know its name in English x_D. I added it because it’s a waistcoat, and waistcoats are stronger than simple shirts, and the skirt has also ‘lining’, because part of the inner part of it could be seen sometimes. So I put ‘lining’ in all the carmine red pieces.

* In the image you can notice a little white line, in the middle of the waistcoat. This is because I left a little hole to take the bat wings by there… but, after this, I knew how the wings really where, so I had to sew that little hole x_D
Edit(2019). I fixed it because, when sewing, I made it 1mm smaller on each seam. That's why I first needed to add that black piece in the middle. It can close, but it was a bit uncomfortable for dancing, so I made it a bit bigger. Also, the upper button wouldn't close anymore :/ That's why I finally decided to change the middle pieces. And, also, this time, there's no need for that black piece to show up.

9- “Alas”. Intentando averiguar su forma exacta, e incluso habiendo preparado un agujero en el chaleco para sacar por ahí el soporte para las alas (sí, esto es la pequeña línea blanca del chaleco), acabé descubriendo (con incredulidad) que las alas eran más bien una suerte de capa o sailor fuku. En principio, no me gustó mucho el descubrimiento… porque era tan simple que incluso me pareció ridículo… Pero el hecho de que era más sencillo de hacer, que consumiría menos tela y que se me enredaría menos el pelo… hizo que aceptara estas “alas” xDD

Utilicé de nuevo polipiel con fieltro.

9- “Wings”. I don’t know if this can be called wings. It looks more like a sailor fuku or a coat. At first I thought this “wings” were really fake and I didn’t liked them. But this wings are easier to do than the realistic ones, you use less material and –first of all and most important!- it wouldn’t hitch my hair so easily like the other ones ><… so, that how I ended up liking this “wings” xDD

I used black leatherette with felt.

10- Falda. Lo dejo para lo último, porque es lo último que he acabado –reconozco que en la recta final, cuando menos quedaba, me entró la perrería y el cansancio xD-

De nuevo la tela de brocado rojo carmín, del chaleco, con el forro rojo carmín, las líneas negras de veta y los bordes murcielaguísticos negros de polipiel con forro de fieltro, para que queden más consistentes xD. Puse entretela de pegar, en la cinturilla, para que fuese más fuerte. La falda se cierra con una cremallera (que está tapada con una solapa) y la cinturilla se abrocha con un botón.

Para la forma de la falda, he hecho muchas pruebas, y para que no cuelgue, tiene varillas en cada una de las líneas negras (jaula hecha entre la tela de la falda y el forro, así que no se ve xD

En la foto podéis ver como la modelo Marylin lleva la falda (Marylin es ese trozo de goma eva rosa, que me sirvió para poder ver realmente la forma de la falda, porque verla puesta en una misma es bastante difícil -.- necesito un maniquí decente)

10- Skirt. I talk about this in the last place, because is the last thing I finished –and it took many time because I got really tired of it T__T –

Again, I used the carmine red brocade fabric, as in the waistcoat, with the carmine red lining (?), the black lines are seam (?? lode ??) and the black batty parts are leatherette and felt. I put on it a zipper, and with a button.

I tested a lot of patterns until I got this one and I kinda preferred this one x_D And it has a sort of cage between the brocade and the lining (?) fabrics, to get that shape.

You can see in the picture, how Marylin wears the skirt (Marylin is that pink foamie piece, that I used to see the real shape of the skirt -.- I need a proper mannequin)

Y creo que no se me olvida nada (a parte de las uñas rojas y dientes de vampiro opcionales xD y ese collar de plata, que es en realidad un accesorio extra, por lo que no voy a hacerlo xD), así que aquí acaba esta entrada de blog.

Abajo hay un vídeo con el cosplay (mientras tanto, añado el vídeo donde la canté y donde la bailé hace unos 2 años xD) , y espero pronto poder añadir también fotos ^^ Espero que os guste mi cosplay!! :3

And… I think I said everything (don’t forget red nails and the vampire fangs –optional?-, also the silver necklace, which I’m not doing, because it’s an alternative accessory), so the blog post finish here.

Cosplay: Iori Minase - Casual ver. - The iDOLM@STER

Hace mucho que no hago una entrada, subo videos o fotos; ¿queréis la verdad? Tenía pereza xD Tengo mucho material ahí pero no caduca como las naranjas, así que puedo publicarlo cuando me de la gana. He tenido exámenes, prácticas de trabajo y otras cosas, que están primero en mi lista de prioridades xD

Para ser sinceros, he hecho este cosplay a la vez que otro, y de hecho he escrito antes la otra entrada (por si luego os parece raro como empieza la entrada de ese xD), pero he podido grabar el vídeo que quería de este primero, así que pongo primero este.

A ver, es el vestido Casual de Iori. Es sencillo, es bonito, pero me costó bastante dar con telas adecuadas, aunque lo tenía en mente desde hace prácticamente 2 años… Y a decir verdad conseguí la tela hacia finales del verano pasado, pero con las clases y demás, no he tenido tiempo (y en invierno, como que no me daban ganas de ponerme a hacer un traje de verano)

Se necesita: pelo/peluca castaña larga, diadema, botas marrones, tela rosa y blanca, tela a rayas rosas clara y oscura, puntilla blanca, cremallera y pintura de tela.

It’s been a long time since I didn’t posted anything on the blog, though I uploded some videos on youtube and I have photos. I was lazy, because I have a lot of material, but I had exams, work practices and other things, so when I had free time, I wanted to rest a bit.

To be honest, I did this cosplay at the same time I did other one (I say this because I already wrote the other blog post, and it can seem strange now that I’m posting this one first). And I’m posting this one first because I recorded the dance for this cosplay first.

Well, this is the Casual outfit of Iori. It’s simple and cute, but it was very hard to find fabrics that fit the original patterns. I planned to do it like 2 years ago X_D And I have the fabric since the end of summer of last year, but I was busy with classes, and it’s kinda cold sewing a summer cosplay on winter -___-

You need: long brown hair/wig, diadem, brown boots, white and pink fabric, zipper, white lace, light pink and dark pink striped fabric and fabric paint.

1- Diadema. Es la misma que la del vestido Cute&Girly Snow Strawberry, también de Iori, así que la estoy reciclando xD

2- Botas. Tengo unas botas marrones de caña alta, que compré para el cosplay de Nagi, y estoy usando esas.

2- Boots. I have some brown high boots that I bought for Nagi’s cosplay, so I’m wearing those ones ^^

3- Vestido. Primero, la parte del top. Es la tela a rayas rosas clara y oscura, con puntilla en los bordes de las mangas y en el cuello, con lazos de tela rosa oscura en los tirantes.

La parte de la falda. Estuve pensando bastante cómo hacerla: con cintas de raso para las rayas rosas y con fieltro para las fresas, encontrando una tela con rayas rosas ya o pintándolo. Fue imposible encontrar una tela con ese dibujo, y para que mentirnos, coserle cintas me parecía un royo -.- Así que acabé pintándolo con pintura de tela. xD

Luego lo uní al top y puse tela blanca fruncida abajo, y por detrás una cremallera. ¡Y ya está!

3- Dress. First of all, the top. It’s the light and dark Pink striped fabric, with white lace in the neck and the braces.

The skirt. I thought many ways to do it: with pink laces for the strips and felt for the strawberries, finding a fabric with that picture on it or painting it. It was impossible to find a fabric with that picture and the laces/felt option was very tiiiiiiiiiiiring, so I ended up painting it xD I put white ruffles down of the skirt.

Then I put the skirt and the top together, with a zipper in the back, and c’est fini!

4- Accesorios. El conejo de peluche, Usa-Chan xD es opcional, pero como ya lo tengo, pues :P

Espero tener fotos de este cosplay pronto. Cuando tenga, las iré añadiendo aquí ^^

Pero mientras, grabé el baile que comparto más abajo, Futari no Kioku. También canté la canción en febrero, y la comparto debajo del video del cosplay ^^

La grabación ha tenido algunos problemas >< al final estaba empezando a llover, así que no pude grabar todo cuanto quería, ni más repeticiones para elegir la que más me gustase… Pero no solo fue la lluvia T_T justo al acabar de grabar el baile (antes de grabar los close-up) vino un viejo verde y se me quedó mirando, y no se iba D: Así que me fui a otra parte porque quería acabar de grabar antes de que lloviese más, pero se escondió entre los árboles a espiarme =A= ¡Maldito pervertido, enfermo! Así que si notáis que tengo un poco cara de enfado, es porque estaba muy incómoda y enfadada porque me estaba espiando ese depravado calvo =A=

The filming was troublesome >< In the end it was starting to rain, so I couldn’t film all the things I wanted, and repeat the dance more times, so I like all the moves I do -.- But, it wasn’t only the rain T_T just after recording the dance (before recording the close-up shots) a creepy old man came, he stared at me all the time and won’t go away D: So I went to other place to finish recording what I wanted before it started to rain heavy… but he hide between the trees and spied me! =A= freaking creepy bald nasty man =A= !!! So if you notice that I’m angry, it’s because I was uncomfortable with that creep there watching me and I was also angry because of that.
